One amazing city, two great weddings and one more new country!

What have we been up to since we posted last?? Tons. In September, Alex went to Maryland for Beth Scherer's wedding (don't worry, there's some really cute pictures to post from it, but I have to go find them first) and to help Marcia and Norm celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. (We went out to Amicci's in Baltimore's Little Italy...scrumptious dinner.) But that wasn't their anniversary present--we talked a whole bunch of folks (mostly family, you know who you are) into pitching in to buy them a two-week trip to the big Italy! They went in October, and we got to meet them in Rome for a few days at the start of their trip. And Rome is an amazing city. That, too will be a separate blog entry with pictures. And the side trips included Pisa and Pompeii!
The next great wedding was Kimberly's brother Keith's wedding to the girls' new Aunt Justine. They got married December 8th in Phoenix, Arizona, so we all went back for that week. We'll try to post pictures of our lovely flower girls and the three-level cake that Kimberly constructed (and Alex carried).
One adventure right here at home started on December 20th--Shawn's been moved up to Year 6 at Bentworth! That was the last day of term, so she started this school term with the Year 6 students. We're proud of her, and so far she's settling in well. She knew several of the kids already.
And since we couldn't bear the thought of staying in London for two whole weeks of school break (I know, the horror! But we dont' know how many more vacation chances we'll have in Europe.) we took off on a five-day trip to Switzerland over Christmas. Snow on the Alps just sounded too much like a proper Christmas backdrop to resist it, and we got good deals on the flights and car rental. You guessed it, I'm not posting pictures yet. But I promise there are some! We enjoyed fondue, good chocolate, carolers, and even went sledding down part of an Alp! Mt. Pilatus, to be exact; we took a cable car all the way to the top, then stopped halfway down and grabbed sleds.
Since then, Kimberly's started a new job, Alex is trying to finish a paper for publication, and the girls are getting back into the school routine.
